Professor Jones's fields of interest include the history of the U.S. South, and the history of labor and African Americans. She is currently at work on a book on the African-American community in Boston during the Civil War. Her most recent book is titled "Goddess of Anarchy: The Life and Times of Lucy Parsons, American Radical," about a former slave from Waco who became a famous--and infamous-- anarchist in the late nineteenth century.
