Research focus: Emergency Medicine

Bedolla’s clinical interests are in general emergency medicine, with a focus on risk reduction through critical thinking and evidence-based decision-making. His interest in evidence-based decision-making has taken him to multiple research areas including Grand Prix motorcycle racing, NIH-sponsored head injury trials, cardiac arrests, cycling injuries, CT utilization, aortic dissections, diagnosis and treatment of hemostatic disorders, and imaging utilization. Bedolla is a reviewer for the Western Journal of Emergency Medicine, and he received the “Reviewer of the Year” award in 2015. He combines his research with filmmaking, writing and directing six medical risk management videos per year. His videos are used in more than 30 hospitals in Texas.
