His research interests are in experimental and computational geomechanics and multi-scale modeling with applications to well completions, lost circulation, hydraulic fracturing, and anomalous flow in porous media. Additionally, he has interest in fundamental theoretical advancement of the peridynamic theory of solid mechanics.
