Research Interests

My research is in the emerging field of computational behavioral science, bridging insights from developmental science, clinical psychology, computer science, and electrical engineering. Across all my work I characterize the dynamics of day-to-day activity, which I capture via video recordings and wired and wearable sensors both in the lab and “in the wild”. Currently the work in my lab is focused on capturing daily interactions between mothers and their infants to characterize daily experiences relevant to adaptive socio-emotional development and mental health outcomes. The ultimate goals of this work are to access the basic mechanisms of early social-emotional development and to develop mobile interventions for cases of high risk, such as the transmission of risks for depression from mothers to infants.
