The fundamental questions of life!

I am interested in why we fidget and how fidgeting affects attention and sensory thresholds. Individuals on the autism spectrum and those with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder are diagnosed partially based on the presentation of repetitive/restrictive behaviors or fidgeting behavior, respectively. There is little research investigating the potential functions and mechanisms of these salient behaviors.

As a proud fidgeter myself, I plan to tap (wiggle, rock, and bounce) into this scant field of research.
