Comments about previous experiences working with students
I like students to be willing to dedicate 8-12 hours per week to doing research with me. Anything less adds nothing to the student experience, and anything more can impede curricular progress. I have found that it is not effective for students to do research at the same time as their "hands on" experience (such as an internship, or in a club, or student competitions, etc.)
