Comments about previous experiences working with students

Our lab seeks to better understand patterns of cognitive and behavioral functioning in youth with epilepsy in an effort to assist with understanding brain-behavior relationships, predictors of health-related quality of life (HRQOL) outcomes, and neurobehavioral outcomes from epilepsy treatment. The goal of our research is to promote efforts that enhance quality of care by identifying ways to improve clinical management of conditions and maximize quality of life outcomes in children and adolescents.

Successful undergraduate RAs typically can devote ~ 5-10 hours per week over the course of at least two semesters. Responsibilities increase with proven proficiency in foundational skills, starting with learning more about our data via data entry and then being integrated more into current projects including supporting abstract submission to conferences and aspects of manuscript preparation. We also encourage and support individual projects spearheaded by ambitious students, but this is not a requirement.
