Dr. Tierney’s research focuses on improving health care delivery and its outcomes through developing and implementing electronic health record systems (EHRs) in hospital and outpatient venues in Indiana and in East Africa. He is leading a department at the Dell Medical School that focuses on the health of populations both within and outside of traditional health care settings and takes responsibility for the health and wellbeing of the residents of Central Texas and the communities in which they live, focusing on helping people overcome social barriers to health.
