The Black Art Market

This project is ongoing.

Between 2015 and 2025, The buying market for Black Art went boom and bust. But why? This project aims to collect data to understand the trends in the  contemporary Art Market. 

This million-dollar question will prove interesting for anyone trying to learn more about the art world and the nature of luxury commodities.

Qualifications

The position is open to all students. Preference will be given to students with experience in Art, African-American Studies, and/or business.

I am especially interested in working with students with experience crunching basic data in Microsoft excel. I am also interested in students with archival metadata experience.

Duties will include researching exhibitions over the last decade at the major museums in the US to generate metadata on a spreadsheet.
