Chemistry and biochemistry of steroidal anticancer agents

Our laboratory pursues to discover potent steroid-based anticancer agents with a novel mechanism of action. Undergraduate researchers in our laboratory are expected to involve in the synthesis and biochemical characterization of steroidal anticancer agents.

Qualifications

One year experience in organic chemistry (lecture and lab)

Project Timeline

The candidate must be available for research during Fall and Spring semesters (minimum 10 hours/week)
The candidate must be available for summer research
Attending weekly group meetings (1 hour)

Duties

*Involve in team projects led by a graduate student or a PostDoc
*Synthesize and purify steroidal anticancer agents
*Characterize nucleoside analogs using 1H and 13C NMR and Mass spectrometry
*Student with an excellent research performance will be given an opportunity to conduct semi-independent senior research
