Creating virtual environments for brain research and porting them to VR headsets

This project is ongoing.

We are developing virtual environments for a neuroscience research project involving neurological patients performing spatial navigation tasks using VR headsets. The project entails to designing and programming virtual environments (rooms, buildings, natural scenes, water, fog, etc.) and navigate inside them using the Unity game engine. The program will interact with HTC Vive headsets while tracking the motion of the avatar. The parameters of the environments will be discussed in details. We look for devoted individuals who may want to get involved in brain research. The first task should be completed within 6 months, but the project spans over years beyond this task. Flexible work hours with pseudo-regular progress meetings. We provide the headsets for program development and testing. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact.

I'M INTERESTED IN THIS PROJECT. WHAT SHOULD I DO NEXT?

The Office of Undergraduate Research recommends that you attend an info session or advising before contacting faculty members or project contacts about research opportunities. We'll cover the steps to get involved, tips for contacting faculty, funding possibilities, and options for course credit. Once you have attended an Office of Undergraduate Research info session or spoken to an advisor, you can use the "Who to contact" details for this project to get in touch with the project leader and express your interest in getting involved.
