Developmental eye tracking experiment: data collection and analysis

This project is ongoing.

The Vision, Action, and Cognition Virtual Reality Lab is seeking two research assistants to help on a
developmental study with children ages 1- to 6-years-old. The goal of the project is to study how young
children use their visual attention to plan their actions during natural tasks, such as walking around and
playing with blocks. The research assistants will be a part of data collection and data processing, and can
help with analyses if interested. The research assistants will receive training in how to use numerous
state-of-the-art methods, including head-mounted eye tracking and computer-vision based body
tracking. Data collection will take place February-April 2024. This research experience is ideal for
sophomores or juniors who are interested in completing an Honors Thesis, as well as students interested
in pursuing a graduate career in research.
The preferred skills are listed below. Interested individuals, or those with questions, please contact Sara
Schroer (saraschroer@utexas.edu). Please include your resume and schedule for Spring 2024 in the
email.
