Equitable Motherhood

This project is ongoing.

Inadequate access to maternity care is one major driver of the maternal health crisis facing the United States. How to accurately identify underserved areas? Can we use Artificial Intelligence (AI) to optimize healthcare resources to increase mothers' accessibility to maternity care? This project calculates acceessibility index using GIS to measure mothers' access to maternity care facilities. Then, a cutting-edge deep reinforcement learning model will be built to optimize maternal healthcare resources to enhance equitable access to healthcare facilities. The outcome will benefit domains such as health, policy, and sociology.
