The Histria Multiscalar Archaeological Project (HMAP) is a research project focused on the investigation of human-environment interactions and human and animal mobility from the Archaic to the Late Roman period at the ancient site of Histria (also known as Histros and Istros) on the Romanian Black Sea coast, just south of the Danube delta. The project began in 2018 and is anticipated to continue until at least 2024, with field seasons focused on excavations in a Roman-period necropolis and Late Classical kiln and pottery workshop.
