Project involves field observations and behavioral tests of the strawberry poison dart frog in Panama during the summer of 2011.

Qualifications

Some previous research experience in animal behavior or field research preferred. Student is expected to spend 1-2 months at the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute in Panama, working as a field/research assistant on an ongoing project. Opportunities for an independent research project can be discussed.

Conversational Spanish abilities a plus.

I can provide transportation to Panama, but student will be expected to pay for lodging and subsistence fees while in the field. Student will gain valuable research experience and will have the opportunity to develop an independent research project.
