Entre Familia is a collaborative evidenced-based service project in Hidalgo County that aims to increase HPV vaccination among Latino adolescents and young adults in order to reduce cervical cancer incidence and mortality, along with other associated health disparities, among Latinas in Hidalgo County.
Focusing on four Nuestra Clinica del Valle (NCDV) clinics in Hidalgo County, the Entre Familia program seeks to identify and understand factors that may influence HPV vaccine practices of health care providers and coverage rates in these clinics. The study uses a comprehensive approach to promote vaccination best practices by training providers and clinic staff, improve patient-provider communication regarding the importance of timely vaccination, and enhance healthcare systems supports related to increasing the delivery of HPV vaccinations to clinic patients in rural border communities.
