School Choice in a Pandemic

This project is closed. No applications are allowed.

I am seeking to hire two undergraduate research assistants for a project focused on school choice, education and health policy and race. I received a small grant from The Policy Academies to conduct a study on how families are making school choices during the pandemic. I will conduct a school choice experiment with parents examining the relationship between families’ school choice preferences and schools’ COVID-19 mitigation protocols and student demographics.

I am specifically looking to hire two undergraduate RAs to assist in implementing the survey and conducting literature reviews and a policy review on schools’ current COVID-19 protocols and school choices. The hourly RAship is for 10 hours per week for 7 weeks and the appointment would begin on June 1st.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate student and have some class or research experience in the topics of education, race, or health policy.

The Policy Academies’ mission is to recruit, train, connect, and cultivate the early careers of a pipeline of public policy scholars of color and from underserved communities who will help define, investigate, and propose solutions to the social equity challenges of our time. Students from underrepresented racial or ethnic group in public policy and historically racially-exploited communities are encouraged to apply for this research assistantship.

Project Timeline

The project will be in Summer 2021.
