Small Mammal Biodiversity

This project explores small mammal biodiversity in African ecosystems, examining the ecological factors controlling the distribution of rodents and insectivores across ecological gradients. Undergraduate research participants will be preparing and identifying skeletal remains of small mammals, entering the identification information into a database and helping analyze the information with GIS technology.

Qualifications

All that's required is an interest in ecology, paleontology, mammalogy or GIS.

This is an ongoing, multi-year project.

Duties

Duties include prepping and labeling skeletal specimens, take digital measurements and images with a microscope.
