Susceptibility to Political Misinformation

The Social Cognition Lab at UT Austin (directed by Dr. Bertram Gawronski) is searching for an undergraduate research assistant (PSY 357) for a project on susceptibility to political misinformation. The primary task includes the preparation of a data base of real and fake news of different political slant. All tasks can be completed remotely. The position would be particularly valuable for someone who is interested in applying to graduate programs in social psychology. Credit can be obtained for PSY 357.

Qualifications

- Strong interest in politics

- Ability to take bipartisan perspective

- Expertise in internet data search

- Ability to independently confirm the veracity of political information

- Willingness to commit 5 hours per week (ideally 1 hr per weekday)
