Use of CBD Oil in the Treatment of PTSD: A Randomized Placebo-Controlled Clinical Trial

This ongoing treatment study examines the efficacy of CBD oil within the context of a randomized placebo-controlled clinical trial. Subjects (N = 150) meeting DSM-5 criteria for PTSD are randomized to one of the following three conditions: (a) 300 mg of CBD isolate; (b) 300 mg of CBD broad spectrum oil; or (c) placebo oil. All patients undergo a comprehensive battery of PTSD-related symptom measures on three separate occasions (pretreatment (Week 0), posttreatment (Week 9), and 1 month follow-up (Week 13). Able to commit 10 hrs per week Good communication skills Good organizational skills Capable of interacting with people in emotional distress Experience with using UT Qualtrics (Advantageous but not required)
