Directing and producing independent documentary and dramatic films and video, and audio projects.
Currently working on a primary project; a film about a Christian, gay, African-American musician in his hometown, population 500, in the coalfields of southwestern Virginia-- a gospel choir director, blues musician, coal miner, baseball player, former carnival hoochie coochie dancer and Ford Fellow.
Secondary project is a film about a small Italian, diary-sheep farm, the family that runs it and the immigrants that work on it.
In addition to creating and teaching the documentary course East Austin Stories since 2000, I taught a long-term summer abroad program in Prague (FAMU) for three years with students making short documentaries in and about the city of Prague and surrounding areas and shown in free outdoor screenings in a local night club.
I taught a graduate program in audio for picture for three semesters in Porto, Portugal at FEUP.
I have done international workshops for the State Dept. in Beijing (documentary) and Ulaan Baatar (audio for picture), for the American Film Showcase program.
