Research Interests

My major concentration is intellectual history and the history of disciplines since the Enlightenment, especially in an international context. My other major interests are theory and methodology in the humanities, and the cultural implications of science. I work intensively in research design in the humanities: turning the study of the humanities into projects that pay forward knowledge and experience, not just information. Rubrics: the Vienna Circle, intersections between sciences and humanities, German Idealism, European Romanticism, Intellectual & cultural history (18th-20th centuries), literary & cultural theory, history of science, psychology, & the humanities, Austrian studies
