Kasey Claborn
Research Interests

Dr. Claborn is the Director for the Addictions Research Institute at The University of Texas at Austin. She is currently the Principal Investigator of several federally-funded studies through NIDA and SAMHSA and is the recipient of over $11.2 million in external funding to support her work. Her research focuses on improving the addiction system of care through developing digital health solutions. 

Dr. Claborn and her team use community-engaged research methods to develop innovative interventions with a special focus on digital technology. Her largest project is developing, testing, and implementing TxCOPE (Texans Connecting Overdose Prevention Efforts), an overdose tracking system for the State of Texas.

We are looking for motivated undergraduate students who are interested in addictions/overdose prevention, digital health, machine learning/AI/NLP, and/or conducting community-engaged research. We have a large, diverse team with opportunities to get involved in different aspects of the project.
