Strategies to Improve Local Implementation of Sustainable Land Use

This project is ongoing.

This study examines how to strengthen implementation by local city and county governments of Senate Bill (SB) 375, California’s path-breaking planning law to promote region-scale coordination of transportation and land use to improve sustainable development patterns.

Project Timeline

Starts: Summer 2024 and is ongoing.   

Duties
  • participate in fixed weekly project meeting;
  • maintain written research log documenting the study process;
  • collect, describe, and analyze appropriate city planning documents and data; 
  • complete a written review of relevant planning documents; and  
  • contribute to the development of survey instrument targeting local planning directors regarding sustainable land use and smart growth practices.
