Research Interests

My research examines transportation planning, policy, decision-making, and finance, particularly at the regional scale. Transportation institutions are a longstanding focus of my work, and I focus a critical lens on the structural choices underlying the organization, authority, and funding of transportation agencies. I study how these choices ultimately shape transportation outcomes. My work is applied in motivation: how can we better integrate transportation and land use planning to build sustainable communities? How can we shape transportation revenue and allocation practices to incentivize and reward low carbon mobility investments?
